Two Nursing Home Aides Face Criminal Charges Of Cruelty To A Person Over 65 At Nursing Home In California.

Nursing home residents are often seen as vulnerable victims, because in many cases, they are unsure of who they can tell about their abuse and neglect. In far too many instances, that is because the abuse comes from the very people who are supposed to be caring for them.  This is why families and loved ones need to be aware of the signs of abuse. If you suspect abuse, please call one of our expert nursing home abuse lawyers here at our Boston, Massachusetts law firm to help guide you and your loved ones through the complicated litigation process inherent in nursing home abuse cases.

Two Jones County, California nursing home aides are accused of threatening and striking an 89 year-old resident. Major Earl Humphries of the Jones County Sheriff’s Office says the abuse happened at the Lynn Haven Nursing Home on Monticello Highway. The two aides were only caught after the man’s family put a video camera in the room. Vonshell Napier faces four counts of cruelty to a person over 65 and Beverly Jackson faces one count. Major Humphries said the camera in the room captured what he called both physical and mental abuse. The pair was caught on camera punching the man. One aide hit him in the head before threatening to beat him again.
