Sheffield Nursing Care Home Accused Of Systematic Bullying And Abuse.

The systematic bullying of elderly residents at Lime Trees Nursing Home in the United Kingdom came to light after an internal investigation was launched. It was uncovered that two nursing home employees repeatedly slapped, teased, pushed, taunted and ridiculed elderly dementia patients at the facility.

Senior care worker Ann Culley and care assistant Carol Grant, both aged 51, have been accused of neglecting and abusing patients at the Sheffield care home. The two friends targeted residents for sport, verbally abusing them, slamming doors to scare them and hiding their personal items.

In some specific allegations, the women are accused of refusing to help residents to the toilet, deliberately locking residents from their room and striking a resident for her obsession with food. The woman taunted the residents for fun, calling them names like “vulture” and “dirty cow.” The women will hopefully be held responsible for their inappropriate and egregious behavior.

Nursing home workers are supposed to care for and respect residents. When the standard of care drops, and workers abuse or neglect their charges, the results can be devastating. If you or someone you know has been a victim of nursing home abuse in Massachusetts, and would like to find out whether you have a viable legal claim for personal injury damages, please call 617-787-3700 or email info@gilhoylaw.com, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to speak with an expert Massachusetts elder neglect attorney, Massachusetts personal injury accident attorney or Massachusetts wrongful death attorney.
