A nursing home aide at the Ludlowe Health Center in Fairfield, Connecticut has been arrested and charged with assaulting one of her patients.
Tina Blake, 27, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, allegedly fractured the face and broke the finger of an 84 year-old man in her care, which constitutes flagrant and extreme nursing home abuse.
The elder abuse incident occurred in April 2012 after Blake became angry with the man because he needed to be cleaned at the end of her shift.
The man’s son reported his father’s personal injuries to local police, who discovered what happened after an investigation of the nursing home abuse incident.
Blake’s charges include cruelty to a person, third-degree assault on a victim over 60, and first-degree reckless endangerment.
