The family of Chester Isaac “Pee-Wee” Broussard, who is confined to his bed at a Lafayette, Louisiana nursing home, is alleging that the nursing home has been abusing the 93 year-old resident.
Lafayette police are now investigating the nursing home. This is after Broussard’s family became suspicious of several personal injuries Broussard suffered in recent months. They took photos of the personal injuries, which included bruised arms, a black eye and a bloody nose.
Broussard was a famed accordion player and is a member of The Acadian Museum’s “Order of Living Legends.”
His family believes that someone at the nursing home is responsible for their loved one’s elder abuse injuries. The police have not yet filed criminal charges against the nursing home.
