The River Towne Center nursing home facility, located on Warm Springs Road in Columbus, Georgia, is investigating nursing home abuse allegations by three female residents at the facility. The allegations involve sexual assaults allegedly perpetrated by two male residents at the facility.
A statement released by River Towne Center indicates that, during the week leading up to Mother’s Day, supervisors at the facility were made aware of allegations by female residents that male residents at the nursing home center were sexually touching the female residents. The statement further indicates that local police were immediately summoned. Officials at the State Department of Health were also notified of the allegations.
The statement further indicates that an internal investigation of the nursing home abuse allegations has revealed them to be unsubstantiated, but that the nursing home is awaiting the result of the investigations being conducted by the Columbus police department and State Department of Health officials.
At this point, the individuals accused of sexual abuse are no longer residing at the River Towne Center facility.
