According to state police officials in Jasper, Indiana, four attendants at a local nursing home have been arrested on criminal charges that they battered and neglected a resident at the elder care facility.
The resident’s name was not released, but authorities say that four employees at the Providence Home Health Care Center were charged with felony battery and neglect, as well as misdemeanor intimidation for their elder neglect and abuse at the nursing home facility. Two other employees also face misdemeanor charges for failure to report the nursing home abuse and neglect.
The charges stem from an investigation by the state attorney general office’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, Indiana State Police and the Dubois County prosecutor’s office. The elder resident victim reportedly had facial wounds and was suffering from dehydration.
